The Communications Committee continues to make progress on the Board’s goals. We are continuing to work on meeting our social media benchmarks including increasing the number of followers on Twitter to 250 and Facebook to 400. There are currently 50 followers on twitter and 412 fans on Facebook. Additionally, due to the response from the membership survey FGFOA has established a LinkedIn account. The committee would like to encourage all FGFOA members to follow our newly launched LinkedIn page.
School of Governmental Finance Committee

The 2017 School of Governmental Finance Committee is so proud of all the work that resulted in an amazing program and would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one who helped to make this year awesome!! This includes all the volunteers, speakers, moderators, Florida League of Cities staff, FGFOA Board members and especially the former chair Jennifer Desrosiers, to name a few.
This year we added a few Intermediate/Advanced sessions to the Wednesday morning schedule to make the Intermediate/Advance training a full 2 ½ days compared to 2 days in prior years. We heard a lot of positive feedback and we are exited for the challenge of making next year even better when we are at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens from October 15 – 19, 2018.
The School of Governmental Finance Committee is very excited for next year and we have already had our kick-off meeting! BUT, it is never too late to get involved in your School, so if you want to join the committee, be a speaker, or if you have a presentation idea, please contact

- Beginning the process of updating the Committee Manual
- Updating the Basic Government Resource Manual
