Active Professional Organization - The FGFOA is one of the most active state government finance officer’s organizations in the country. It maintains close alliance with the national organization, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
Affordability - Annual dues are a nominal $75 for Government and $125 for Associate members, which allows a greater number of your staff to become involved.
Annual Conference - Held in the spring, the Annual Conference brings together FGFOA members and other public finance professionals to improve and develop technical and managerial skills. Workshops, discussion tables and exhibits provide teh latest information on government finance topics. Members are eligible for discounted registration.
Committees - The FGFOA has a number of standing committees that offer the opportunity to become involved in the activities of the association.
Information - Access to the Basic Government Resource Manual.
Leadership - Provide opportunities for individual development. Recruit, mentor and promote leaders within FGFOA.
ListServes - Five listserves allow the membership to communicate on important issues. ListServes are e-mailed based communication where members can ask other members of the ListServe a question by sending an email to that ListServe.
Members - Receive important information sent via FGFOA News E-Bulletins.
Networking - Members are able to exchange ideas and information with government finance officers, as well as other finance related professionals. We have 14 Local Chapters of the FGFOA throughout the state.
Professional Certification - Certified Government Finance Officers (CGFO) - A voluntary professional certification program designed to recognize a participant’s knowledge and demonstration of skills, experience and involvement in governmental finance if Florida.
School of Governmental Finance - Held in the fall, the school provides a full week of classroom-style training, ranging from beginner level courses to advanced level courses.
Webinars - FGFOA offers free webinars to members. FGFOA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
